Strategy Targets
It is difficult to set targets at the moment due to the incomplete data and because of under-reporting. For example with the proposed introduction of a new reporting system we anticipate an increase in reported incidents of crime and disorder particularly of verbal and physical assault. This will not mean that there is more crime and disorder occurring merely that more is being reported. Once the data system has been introduced we will re-visit setting an appropriate target to monitor success. How we propose to implement this regime is covered in the later section on continuous improvement.
However before then we want to be able to set targets to monitor progress across the life of the strategy these are:
- Shelters damaged per 100 shelters will be reduced by 10%
- Damage to windows of buses will be reduced by 15%
- Respondents feeling very or quite unsafe after dark will be reduced
- Route crime will be reduced by 10%
- Overall crime on Merseyrail network will be reduced by 15%
